National Institute for Parasitic Diseases (NIPD)

NIPD is the leading center for control and prevention of parasitic diseases nationwide. Under the leadership of National Health and Family Planning Commission and China CDC, NIPD is primarily responsible for technical assistance for diseases control and prevention, emergency response to out breaks ,scientific research on parasitic diseases and tropical diseases, international cooperation, education and training, health promotion, and technical services.
γ€€γ€€In 2017, NIPD was approved to put up a new license plate of Chinese Center for Tropical Diseases Research. In 2015, the WHO Collaborating Center for Malaria, Schistosomiasis and Filariasis (which was designed in 1980) was redesigned as the WHO Collaborating Center for Tropical Diseases. NIPD has also designed as National Center for International Research on Tropical Diseases by Ministry of Science and Technology, and Key Laboratory of Parasite & Vector Biology by National Health and Family Planning Commission. Meanwhile, National Parasitic Disease Reference Laboratory and Postdoctoral Program have been set up in the institute.
