TI:Role of hepatitis C virus superinfection in hepatic pathologic changes of patients with chronic hepatitis B:aretrospective short2term and long2term comparative study AU:SHANG Qinghua, YU Jianguo , XU Chuanzhen , XIAO Deming , YIN Yanming , CHEN Chongxing , ZHANG Guangshu AD:Institute of Liver Disease , Jinan Military Region , The No. 88 Hospital of the People’s Liberation Army , Taian 271000 ,China Corresponding author : SHANG Qing2hua , E2mail : shangqh @1631com 【Abstract】 Objective To observe the effect of hepatitis C virus (HCV) superinfection on the short2term and long2term hepatic pathological changes in patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB) 1 Methods HCV2RNA of twice corresponding period serum samples was detected via reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction assay from 230 patients with CHB for whom liver biopsy was performed at an interval of 015215 years , respectively1 The hepatic pathological changes of the patients with CHB who were serum HCV2RNA positive at the beginning of observation and persistently positive between the starting and ending of observation were respectively compared with those of serum HCV2RNA negative and persistently negative patients1 Results 41 patients (17183 %) were positive for serum HCV2RNA at the beginning of observation1 There were significant differences in the severity of hepatic inflammatory activity grade and fibrosis stage between serum HCV2RNA positive and negative patients with CHB ( P < 0105) 1 Twenty2nine patients were persistently positive for serum HCV2RNA in the beginning and end of observation1 Compared with persistently negative patients who were 116 patients selected from the above2mentioned 230 patients and they were comparable with HCV2RNA persistently positive patients in mean follow2up time , age and sex , the long2term progression of hepatic inflammatory activity grade and fibrosis stage in persistently positive patients were more speedy ( P < 0101) 1 Conclusion HCV superinfection worsens the hepatic pathological changes of patients with CHB and speeds up its progression1 【Key words】 Hepacivirus ; Hepatitis B ,chronic ; Pathology ; Reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction ; Case2control studies · 2 3 · 中华实验和临床病毒学杂志2005 年3 月第19 卷第1 期 Chinese J Exp Clin Virol ,March 2005 ,Vol 19 ,No11 © 1995-2005 Tsinghua Tongfang Optical Disc Co., Ltd.
