【Abstract】　Objective 　To compare the serological characters of an outbreak of hepatitis E and evaluate sensitivity and specificity of anti2HEV E22IgM1 Methods 　The sera collected from the employees of an outbreak unit were detected for anti2HEV E22IgM and IgG, and the serum samples from a neighboring department were used as control1 The results detected with anti2HEV E22IgM、IgGand Genelab anti2HEV IgM、IgGin some samples were compared1 Results 　The positive rate of anti2HEV E22IgM in the control group was 0111 %1The results between the positive and the negative samples can be distinguished easily1 The specificity of anti2HEV E22IgM is about 99189 %1 The positive rate of anti2HEV E22IgM in outbreak striken population was 8166 % , significantly higher than that in the control group ( P < 01001) 1 The results from HEV patients’serial samples in the outbreak unit showed that the anti2HEV E22IgM titer was high 30260 days after the infected and then declined clearly1 The positivity seemed unrelated to neither sex nor age. Among the 115 positive to anti2HEV E22IgM, 27 were negative to Genelab anti2HEV IgG, the fact indicated a rather high risk of misdiagnosis of about 23148 %. In the 179 randomized samples of the control group , the positive rate of Genelabs anti2HEV IgGwas about 11117 %1 In 110 samples for the positive anti2HEV E22IgM, the positive ratio of Genelabs anti2HEV IgGwas about 76136 % , and that of Genelabs anti2HEV IgM only 69109 %1 There were 16 samples negative for both Genelabs anti2HEV IgG and IgM1 The ratio of the difference between the Genelabs anti2HEV IgGand IgMwas about 25145 %1 Conclusion 　The specificity of anti2HEV E22IgM was about 99 % , and false positive rate was low1 The sensitivity of anti2 HEV E22IgM in acute hepatitis E infection was 25 %230 % higher than that of Genelabs anti2HEV IgM、IgG1 The infected persons in the outbreak unit can be preferably distinguished from the non2infected persons by anti2HEV E22 IgM1 Anti2HEV E22IgM can image the characters of the outbreak of HEV and played a great role in the control of outbreak and in the early diagnosis for hepatitis E1
