Abstract : A new method was developed to analyze theβ- chlorolactic acid an intermediate metabolite of 3 -MCPD in human urine. Urine was extracted by matrix solid2phase dispersion extraction (MSPD) with Extrelut 20 celite. The extract was first derivatized by methylating with boron trifluoride2methanol and then acylated with HFBI reagent under the optimized condition. The derivatized analyte could be well separated at pro2 grammed temperature in HP1701 capillary column. This analyte was quantified by GC - ECD and identified by GC - MS. The limit of detection was 110μgPL. The average recovery was 7514 % ( n = 6 , range 6215 %~113 % ) when spiked at 1115μgPL and the RSD was 2310 %. It was concluded that this method can be ap2 plied to quantify traceβ- chlorolactic acid in human urine.
