Abstract : The method of hydride generation - atomic fluorescence spectrometry was established for the simul taneous determination of cadmium and tin in foods. Under the proposed conditions , the detection limits were 01002 9 ngPml for cadmium and 0119 ngPml for tin. The linear calibration curve for cadmium was within the range of 0~2 ngPml with correlation coefficient 01999 8 , and for tin within the range of 0~100 ngPml with correlation coefficient 01999 9. The RSDs for cadmium at 015 ngPml and tin at 25 ngPml were 115 % and 215 % , respectively. The recovery rates of standard spiking for cadmium and tin were in the range of 9310 % ~ 10015 % and 9113 % ~9912 % , respectively. This method is simple , rapid , sensitive and accurate. It suits the purpose of the simultaneous determination of cadmium and tin in foods.
